Frank Lampard – the new Chelsea manager

On the 4th of July 2019 Frank Lampard (former Chelsea player) was announced as the new Chelsea FC manager because the former Chelsea manager resigned. Frank Lampard was previously manager of Derby county FC but decided to leave them for his former club Chelsea. Frank Lampard is considered by many a club legend at the club because of the considerable amount of goals he scored and the amount of success there was at the club when he was apart of the squad. Therefore, the announcement of him becoming manager brought hope to a lot of the Chelsea fans.

Frank Lampard has now been managing the club for around 4-5 months and already the fans of Chelsea have seen a huge impact on the club itself. This is through the more exciting play style and how the youth players have been given an opportunity to start and are now thriving from this and giving a lot of the senior players a run for their money. Chelsea have currently won 6 premier league games in a row as of 16/11/19 and are joint top of their champions league group. This success has also been with a 2 season transfer ban and a lot of injuries in the squad – it has definitely been a promising start for the Chelsea fans and Frank himself.

Chelsea vs Man city (upcoming game)

Chelsea’s next match is on the 23rd of November against Man city (away) at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester in the Premier league. Chelsea are currently 3rd in the league and Man city are 4th with only one point behind. Which means it is a massive and very hard game for Chelsea if they want to have a stable position in the top 4. Chelsea are coming off the back of 6 straight wins in the premier league under new manager Frank Lampard and are playing some of the best football they have been in a long time especially after having a two season transfer ban and multiple injuries. If Chelsea were to win against Man city it could mean they are potentially in for a shot at the Title considering they would only be 8 points behind the league leaders Liverpool. Chelsea’s best center back Antonio Rudiger may also be fit to play for the game which would be a huge boost for the Chelsea defense considering they have been conceding more goals then they would like to this season. Chelsea’s attacking players are in great form currently and are scoring a mass amount of goals between them which looks hopeful for the upcoming game against Man city who can be hard to break down.

Chelsea vs Ajax review

Chelsea played Ajax on the 5th of November 2019 in a Champions league group stage match at their home ground “Stamford Bridge” on the Fulham road. Before the match Chelsea were originally second in their group and Chelsea needed to get some points from this match to have a more secure position in their group. The final result of the match was a draw (4-4) and it was a crazy match involving two red cards in the space of a minute. Chelsea were 4-1 down and managed to score 3 goals in under 15 minutes to equalize. There was also two own goals in the match and two penalty’s as well to add to the madness of the game and not to mention some great goals scored by both teams as well. Chelsea also managed to score a fifth to put them in front but it was controversially disallowed after a handball. This game will for sure go down in Champions league history.
